The verdict
Same network, different philosophy. BT buys you brand familiarity, a TV ecosystem and frequent introductory discounts; Zen buys you fixed in-contract pricing, top-of-table service and better hardware. If you compare the price over a full contract — including BT's annual £3/month-ish rises — the gap is smaller than the headline suggests.
